The Professional Woman’s Guide to Getting Everything

When I first graduated from college, when I became a team lead, the first time I became someone’s boss, when I became an independent consultant and even today as I am starting my own business, I struggled with how to transition from one area of my life to another.  From work to personal life, from school to the professional world and from working for a large firm to working independently. Transitioning from managing a boss to managing clients. Even how to spend the new money I earn and even more importantly, how to spend my time.It felt like I was navigating a whole new world every time with no guide.

As I talked to more women about my struggles, I realized that I was not the only person struggling with these issues.  These stood out to me and my friends as issues that we were all facing, yet had no where to turn for answers. These weren’t questions that we would discuss with our work mentors and our personal circles seemed to have widespread experiences among them. It wasn’t until business school that I found a circle of people who had similar enough yet different enough experiences to be both meaningful and helpful. Now post business school, its even more important to make the most of every step of my career, every hour of my day and every penny I earn.

And that’s why I started this blog.  To share my experience and to learn from all of you about those meaningful steps that you took and the important decisions that we make so that we can all get more of what we want out of life.
